BarnitaI'd like to tell you that I'm bright and intelligent, but I can't, cos I'm not. So, with no further ado- hers the blog of an ordinary human of average intelligence, average looks and extraordinary laziness. Whose world begins and ends with her nephew Aryan.

I left on vacation - my crummiest one ever. I went north, but I had to come back to Mumbai in 5 days cos my mum is ill. She got 2 kinds of malaria which have lead to multiple-organ failures of sorts. After shifting hospitals and over a week in the ICU at Leelavati - my mum is now on the ventilator and is sedated - passed out. We're all rather caught up with all of this.
I'll be back once my mum comes home. See you all then.

Thanks for asking - she's much the same - the Doc says there should be marked improvement over this week. May I know who this is?

sorry barnita to hear that - sounds really serious

"the Doc says there should be marked improvement over this week."
and? | |

Instead of improvement there was a set back of sorts that had the Docs flummoxed - but since yesterday - there has been such improvement that she is no longer sedated. But she can't speak yet cos of the pipes in her throat.
The malaria lead to ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) and so whenever she gets off the ventilator (maybe by mid-week) - she will be very weak. I'm thinking of quiting my job to nurse her back to health - its not an option I want - but there is noone else to take care of her and finding a reliable professional private nurse in India - well - its pretty near impossible, or sky-high expensive if possible.
Things are so bad now Again. Everything is just hanging by a thread. We could still loose her, I could end up jobless, or my Didi could end up jobless. Things never seem to work out right. Just when they are working out - they go bad - always. I'm depressed.

barnita
you make me speechless...
sometimes the world looks like ending and you see no way out..
and i know each word i say, must be wrong - but you are my friend, and i can't stop trying to at least not let you alone...
so please excuse - but what do you think would your mother say if you risk your whole life for her? Mothers usually don't care as much about themselves as about their children - and because you are so great i know your mother must be also a great woman - so please excuse, but isn't something like "teamwork" of your whole family possible to help your mother through the hardest time?
"Just when they are working out - they go bad - always"
yes, i know what you mean - at the moment the whole world seems to be doomed but there is that stubborn survival instinct - so please don't give up - you don't have to be glad about your problems, but think of Laotse - even a journey of 1000 miles starts with a step. So please don't stop to do one step after the other
think of the Butterfly effect - sometimes the wings of a butterfly are enough to change the world
"But she can't speak yet cos of the pipes in her throat. "
but she can listen - talk to her
she will hear you and understand you - and that's the best medicine for her - and try true communication because i guess she will be able to reply to you in some way. I remember my father once in hospital - unconscious - i could see him answering through the medical devices (i guess, the ones measuring heartbeats) - and actually, when i have talked to him i saw the rhythm changing. Yes, sure, it's like reading Tarot cards but at least it is a way to communicate
sorry barnita when my words sound like blablabla - but i can't find better ones
